To setup Yahoo! Mail's IMAP on your Sony Ericsson K800i using the default email client, configure the following settings below:

> Go to Menu>Messaging>Email>Settings
> Select "New Account" then enter the Account Name (Example: Yahoo! IMAP)
> Select the Data Account on the option labeled "Connect Using" (Example: Smart Internet or myGlobe INET)
> Email address: (Complete Email Address)
> Connection type: IMAP4
> Incoming server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
> Username: (Complete Email Address)
> Password: (Yahoo! Mail Password)
> Outgoing server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
> Advanced settings:
>> Encryption: No Encryption
>> Outgoing username: (Complete Email Address)
>> Outgoing password: (Yahoo! Mail Password)
>> Incoming port: 143
>> Outgoing port: 25

Mine works on both sending and receiving. This is not only working on Sony Ericsson K800i. You can configure this on your phone as long as it supports email. Normal browsing rates may apply depending on your network providers. Anyway, thanks for reading this post. Have a nice day! If you have some questions, suggestions or corrections, just post a comment. Thank you.

AFAIK, Yahoo only provides supports IMAP on a limited range of phones and networks and the only one I know of is the iPhone on AT&T, but there may be more.

Another option is to get the paid Yahoo! Mail Plus and configure your phone for SMTP/POP access.

Try to double-check your Internet settings. It works great on my phone. I think it also depends on your network provider. Anyway, can you try to redownload the Internet settings for your phone and check what will happen.

Here in the Philippines, it is working on Sony Ericsson K800i using Smart Internet. I haven't tried it on other phones.

This isnt free? How about for globe? I'm using the wap to open yahoomail though, what's the difference? Would it be possible to add an attachment? Like a picture, from your phone?

@Nixxi: Yah, this is not free! I tried it in Globe but it is not working. I haven't tried it again. You can access free Yahoo! Mail in globe by going to http://ph.m.yahoo.com/p/mail but it does not allow you to put attachments. If you're gonna configure Yahoo! Mail IMAP on the default email client of your phone, you will be able to attach files like pictures. Try it but it is not for free. It is working on Smart Internet. Give it a try using myGlobe CONNECT.

Yup, that's the catch, you have to pay to send attachments. I want to try multiply's publishing photos through email. Sana free. Hehe.

@Nixxi: Try it using Smart. Hehehe! Anyway, pwede ata gawing free sa Globe un kaso hindi naman cya nagana sa myGlobe CONNECT at INET. Lagyan mo lang ng 3g.myglobe.com.ph@ ung incoming at outgoing servers.
