Hi I'm currently trying to alter the GDFS on my G900 to get the SE updater to flash the latest Generic World1 firmware.

However im having a hard time finding out the FULL details for the old version ie. Generic World1 R9L004 - which is what I need.

Does anyone have a G900 with Generic World1 R9L004 who can tell me the version details as written in the service menu please.

On my phone you have to type >*Thanks so much!

Why don't you try just a simple update using SEUS...

Hi My phone has customized singapore on it. Im trying to switch to generic world1 by tricking the update service into thinking i have the old GW1 firmware as outlined in other posts on the net.

Problem is i cant get the full details for the this old version.

Thats why im asking if someone who has the phone can post it as written in their service menu.
Thanks!

Try googling for it. Wikipedia has a list of all firmwares as far as I know... It may have the info you are looking for though.

Then wait a little. There are plenty of G900 users on this forum. I'm sure someone will give you info...

I did it!
All you need to know is the first section of the CDA you want.
So for generic world 1 you replace the first part of the cda in the hex file with 1204-3148. The last part doesnt matter. The other parts eg fimware version also dont matter.

were you on one of the CDA short codes? R4A , R2A ect.? if not, do you think it's still possible to use your method?

How do you change the hex exactly so I can make my G900 to generic world 1?

EDIT:I did what dnalevy says but after writing the .bin file in XL when I restart my phone it still says CDA 1207-6480 R3A which is my original, although in XL it DOES say 1204-3148 R3A.

Tried a SEUS, before it would say Customized UK (says You have the latest, but if you still want to update, continue anyway) and now, it just says "Update not available".

Am I missing something?
