Wow, what a feeling! Getting rid of that thing was like a real relief. Tomorrow I'm off buying a P1, almost knowing that it will be a better buy than the W960.

Among the things that annoyed me with the W960 was the keyboard. The frustration when the buttons squeaked against the side of the wall that surrounded the button base was unbearable.
The second thing was the volume buttons on the side. If you listen to music you often have your earphones connected to whatever SE hpm- device you want. You'll probably replace the hpm-70 with some more advanced device from SE allowing you to change songs, volume etc on the cord. Thus making the volume buttons redundant. I never thought I would say that, but they are unnecessary!

And the fact that you are able to use the W960's walkman player makes the choice even simpler. Has anyone else gone from a W960 to P1? Please share your opinion!

Actually i went from a P1i to a w960i and then back to a p1i. I dont really have much of a complaint in terms of the w960i i rather liked it. A big plus of the W960i was the look and the fast transfer speed from computer to w960i. My reason for going back to the p1i was that i got tired of using the virtual keyboard. Plus the fact that you could port walkman 3.0 over to the p1i and the p1i's cheap price just sealed the deal. So i sold my w960i for a great price, used half of what i got to purchase my new p1i and modded it. I also changed the housing of my p1i from silver to black to suit my taste and to have something a little different.

Hey I only got a third of what I paid for my W960, but good for you!
The thing for me is that I would've kept it if it only had qwerty.

defiantbeast: were did you buy the black housing? Have been looking for it a long time now.

I bought mine from the seller in the first link. I thought it would be a cheap knock off but it was actually good quality and fit well. I do suggest downloading the full guide from the sticky as opposed to the simpler guide as the full guide will tell you the exact location of screws and hinges. Ill post pics of my p1i i really like it now more than the w960i. Its really looks more like a w1i

That looks AWESOME. But I have 1 question...

The parts that are black (the silver ones in it's default housing) are they aluminium or plastic?
