Hi everyone !
I got a W900i the other day with the help of Aware !
Called Vodafone using my contract number asking for the W900i to be unlocked.
But they will not do it. They want the original owner to call them!
So can I unlock easily another way? I have been on planet earth for a long time, but have never unlocked or reflashed a phone...
I did unlock a Sharp 902 once, but was given the code by Vodafone.

you've been here since 01 and havent done such things?
well, you can pay for it(3rd parties apps/online websites) or you can patch your phone with setool.

Hi tranced!
Yes, not so brave! I will probably ruin my phones forever if I tried !

There are dozens of little independent Mobile Phone shops knocking around. They will do it for you and they are by far the cheapest option. Online unlocking is VERY expensive, and a little daunting if you don't want to brick the phone.
Just dig out the Yellow Pages

I got my W900 unlocked on a market stall for £10 - it's easy to do!

You can get Vodafone code for 10 GBP.
Its available everywhere.
When you can do it remotely using code for the same amount why do you want to go to the store?

this is getting sorted by me for nothing....
And a heads up...
If you have a Vodafone locked phone any store in the UK can unlock it by code for NOTHING! they have changed as all new contract phones are now unlocked.
PAYG phones are still locked though and they charge £15 to unlock the PAYG ones.

Glad this got resolved, without someone getting richer!
SEMCTool 8.4 FREE(admin program - google it) can unlock, or read NCKs for NOTHING!! And I would have done so for Ofiaich on the day he collected the W900, had my laptop not been shafted(as Ofiaich saw with his own eyes)- For NO CHARGE!! It's a two year old device, FFS - what fleecer should gain from something no-one else cares about??
voda_jon, thanks chap, s'all I can say right now! I wish there were more like yourself......
