Found this on mobile.nu (swedish only, I'm afraid)

Short translation
-----------------
According to Reuters, Sony Ericsson will release a delux model of T68 in 18-carat gold, inlaid with 900 diamonds. Estimated prize will be $24,000.
---------

900 diamonds? WTF? Are those they keys or what? Will the joystick be made of pure gold?

Hahaha... Sort of defeats the purpose of having a mobile phone 'cause I sure as hell wouldn't take that phone out of my bank vault!

Well, well a phone that costs as much as a car... that's a must have (!)
you don't only have to be rich to buy that phone you probably also have to be rich enough to have a butler who carries your bloody phone if it's made of gold!? how much would such a phone weigh anyway? 1kg?!

I think it's a bloody stupid idea and it's terrible that people would waste their money on something like that when they could buy a cheap phone and help people in 3rd world countries or something...

To jaka:

Not a simple car! An expensive car....
Anyway, I don't agree with this tendency which initialy was started by Nokia. What is the purpose to have a phone like this? To show of that you are rich person? You don't get anything else, but a phone which everyone can purchase, gaudy with diamonds and gold. To take it a step further, if you have so much money, why to invest on purchasing a jewel phone, rathen than purchasing directly a real jewel?

I have read it also in our newpapers, but this phone will not release . I read that some jeweller in Austria makes this kind of phone. He actualy sold 2 or 3 pieces of such phone (not T68) for that high price. But he is able to re-make for you als T68 in gold with diamonds and sapphire glass, but for 24.000 EUR.
