for how long time you have r520and how do you like it.
mine is almost 2 years old, think this phone is still one of the best-features etc.
wish, erricsson had made it with color-disp, but no matter.
color is more for fun, than for use-my opinion.had t68 too, but returned to r520.even it is bigger, i like the design of it.everybody is scared at first look, but after showing them it's features-not to forget,2 years old type-they respect it too.it is enough 4 me.
long live ericsson
pls share with me your opinions

thanx for the thread Drfell... I am moving my problem over here then.
The alarm snooze problem may not be related with the firmware at all!? May be a hardware unit (most probably the sensor) that is manufactured bad. I am quite confused since I have seen happy r520 owners around as well (may be they are not aware of the problem).
I will be happy to hear from other fellow r520 owners about their experience with this feature, their firmware, if they have the same bug in their phones.
Cytech mentions that this may be a dust covering up the motion sensor however I wouldn't imagine how the whole batch of phones around the world is effected?

No, it has never worked properly.
This is my brand new THIRD phone from the dealer. I returned in the first one for the alarm snooze problem the same they I received it and opended it up from the box and the second one they sent had the exact same problem PLUS the screen light went dead after 24 hours!..
This will be my 3rd r520 in 3 weeks !

(Purchased the first one on Dec 20,2002). However this last one has the exact same problem as the first one, alarm snooze. My other friend who bought from the same place is also having the same problem.
Ok.. for the loudspeaker, i haven't had time to play with it yet. If there is a problem with the proximity sensor, then there should be more problems with it naturally.
I really don't know what is going on.
The ericsson.com people are continously directing me to the local tech support. What a service!
