The European Commission for Telecoms has been putting more pressure on the mobile networks to further decrease the cost of calling and sending a text whilst abroad. The BBC reported this evening that the cost of sending a text could be reduced from 23p to 9p and the cost of a call down from 36p to 27p per min. Also the cost of data will come down with set data amounts to be used whilst roaming. EU ministers are trying to put this into force by next year. WE HOPE. Its about time though cos the cost of using your phone abroad makes you bloody bankrupt these days. Though we have heard all these reports before.

miss uk did i read that right. you blessed o2 ?
see you do have a hot spot for them some where dont you.
But o2 are one of the cheapest to send abroad to foreign networks and currenlty the only uk network that allows you to use your contract sms bundle abroad to send back to the uk for free.
yes for free
it tales 4 out of your allocation from 1 normal sms and 1 pic mms.
I think o2 should be commended for that and i hope they never change it too.

over the 3 days I visited Germany my whole cost was £2.06p with 02,
I sent a few messages but yep it was cheap im unsure if I would wanna take my Vodafone with me abroad personally
but it might be cheap if I were to visit somewhere with another Vodafone signal
I used to send free messages on 02 abroad outta my bundle but then they changed it 16p lol
I think they should cost around that or 12p each personally,
maybe they should charge more for sending to Australia/America/India and have a low rate for Europe, well we are ment to be joined in the EU thingy int we
