> Memory card (micro SD) jammed in K850i
Bookmark topic
Hi,
my 8GB micro SD card is jammed in its slot on my K850i - i can't get it out. It was working fine, and has now stopped (the phone no longer reads the content). The card is not in backwards (it was working, then it just stopped!). How can I fix this? I can't even remove the card by pushing it down, as it won't spring back up.
thanks

Have you tried pulling it out with a pair of tweezers? If this doesnt work it might be a case of taking the phone apart to get it out.

I have just been able to remove it with a credit card. I then reinserted it and it still won't read the card. The card itself is okay, cause it works in my card readed connected to my PC. When I push the card back in, it goes all the way down, but doesn't feel right - it doesn't click into place.

Sounds like the slot has broken. I would get it looked at.

Check the slot. Or try formatting the card (with the phone) just in case. But seems like a hardware problem more keeping in mind that you couldn't remove it properly... The card slot may be broken. To test the slot btw, try inerting M2 card too. See if the phone reads that.

like inside the slot with a torch - maybe the spring broke and is preventing some or all of the contacts from touching the card. If there is something in there and you can clear it then even if the spring loading mechanism is broken you might still be able to read the card.

Thanks for your help so far. I'm pretty sure its hardwars, as my PC can read the micro SD card (using a card reader), but it won't show up on my PC when I attach the phone by USB. Unfortunately I don't have my M2 card, its on the other side of the world. I might try and see if a shop will let me try one in there before I buy it. I couldn't seem to dislodge any pieces from inside. Might try and pull the phone apart and have a look.

If you think it is damaged and you can replace the part yourself you can get the spare part here:

Well I tried an M2 card - it wouldn't go all the way in. Looks like the slot is broken. I could have a crack at fixing it, but I'm not at home (Oz) at the moment, I'm travelling around europe. The phone is still under warranty, so does anyone know where I can find a list of authorised repairers? I'm heading to Amsterdam, Munich & Stockholm for a couple of days each. But I guess these repairers might be slower, so any recommended (fast - less than 2 days) repairers in Amsterdam, Munich, or Stockholm?
cheers.

i just purchased micro sd card 8gb and done the same thing...
minuts later i done what anyone should of done
RED THE INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL
the way the phone works is quite ingenius .
it reads one card with gold strips facing up and the other sd card with gold connections facing down (thats how it can read two different kinds)
so use the credit card or tweesers just jiggle it out and place it the write way in
niceeeeeeeeeeee!!!
