> 10sec message tone...can it be longer

I can't help but pit phone vs phone here i love my Sony Ericsson i have a V640i wonderful phone all round however its just the short message tone alert see Motorola um lets use the Motorola V360v Vs Sony Ericsson V640i as examples see the Motorola V360v allows you to make all your contacts have different tones Sony too allows that i know but Motorola also allows you to assign your contacts with a different message tone for each contact sony as far as i know doesn't unless is there a way? Also when someone sends you a message on the Motorola it plays the full track of the tone thats assigned & Sony doesn't Sony only plays 10secs of the tone i'm talking about full 3mins + MP3s here too so is it at all possible to make the MP3 play for the full tone on the Sony Ericsson?

For older
phones there was a patch letting you to use up to 60 seconds ringtone for sms. But not all models can be modded with this one...

Well it depend what phone are you using. You need a patch and a patchable phone. For e.g. I think it was possible for phones like K750 for e.g. (older ones). Never DB3150 phones and CID53 DB2020 can't be patched yet...

So please explain a little more carefully as i have a V640i & i'm getting a W910 (On Monday 9 January 2009

So if anyone knows how to get the message tones playing longer on both or one of those phones please explain.

The W910 is not patchable yet thus impossible to make it longer, im not sure about the other phone..
