Hey
Is it possible to port the W960 walkman player and radio visualizations for other phones like the G900/G700? Or better still port the entire walkman player to these phones? I know the player in these phones is similar to the walkman player 3, but the one in the W960 is much more advanced with the ratings, moods and visualizations.
Hope some of the UIQ3 modders has time to port this.

I have compared G900 firmware to W960... If you need the visualizations, try adding these files to "c:\shared\kastor". I haven't tested this thing, I'm not sure if it's going to work or not.. Use it at your own risk...

If the visualizations are only the file (if don't require advanced coding) this should work...

But how do you know if those are the files? I mean....the W960 walkman player though is similar to the walkman player 3 on G series phones, the W960 player has got loads of other features like ratings, moods and visualizations.
I mailed swmail requesting him to port the w960 walkman player and radio visualizations to the G700/G900 or better, port the entire walkman app itself for the G series handsets as he did for the P1. I have not got a reply yet though.
I guess if more people want this ported, some modder might come forward and help us out. This is the only thing that's lacking in my phone currently
Otherwise, I just love it!
edit: the files you gave do contain the visualization xml files and the images, but I guess we need some modder to help us out and guide us!

anyway, I also work on other mods for UIQ phones (mainly customizing the phone). Anyway, I don't see a risk for your phone. If the visualizations don't work, you can only delete the files you put and that's it. It will be back to normal.

you got it all wrong. A modder is a person, who takes the original code, and rewrites it. Like swmail... he took the w960 code, and replanted it to P1i. Maybe some day you will also be a modder. I did some camera driver modding back when i had my k810, but i'm not a modder. Raider was one

EDIT: dang.. i forgot. G900 has no "visualization" like the W960. In w960 you can select it, but here, you can't do anything. not even color. please please someone port it

But only for my needs...
No offense meant...
And the thing about the G900 media center.. Didn't know that there is no option to select visualizations... :S I thought there was such option but with only 1 selection available...

Yeah...that was the reason I ddnt try and check it out...the G700/G900 media app doesn't have any option to change visualization
Hence....its back to swmail....please help!
