I updated my phone's firmware with the program downloaded from sonyericsson.com and i can't restore my backup!i does capsswitch have sometihing to do with this?! thanks

I had the same issue .download latest version of pc suite from SE site.
install it on PC (dont worry the backup wont be affected)
then try backing up

Hmmm, I don't know why are you unable to restore it... I have heard also other people having problem like this... Can you open that backup file with some other program (Outlook or whatever) or try sending it in your phone and open with the phone itself...
You can also check My Phone Explorer if it is able to restore backup made with SE PC Suite:
