So anyone know?
If someone could give me ideas that work on other mobile providers, Ill try them (got no credit so i got nothing to loose
)

You'll notice that often those tricks only work in less developed countries that often don't have very advanced networks. NZ's network is pretty advanced. The only trick I know is that sometimes when you're low on credit (like maybe 20c to 50c), you can browse for ages cause it doesn't charge you straight away. I used to do that heaps, but to be honest, it lost it's appeal a bit when Vodafone realised I had downloaded about 1GB of stuff (by attaching my phone to my laptop) and they canceled my number. At the time 1GB on a prepay sim card was $10000 of internet, so no wonder.
Anyway, I get the feeling that Vodafone may have stopped this from being possible when they recently introduced the new $1 for 10MB prepay data rates. So maybe this post isn't all that helpful...

I know there used to be a way, my friend tryied to do it but he failed. The next time I asked him to try he said that the new pricing had stuffed it up, but I still think there could be a way.
Edit: well i can tell you one thing: your strategy works, but for how long, I dont know
