Are you on PAYG or PAYM?

AFAIK PAYG will only allow you to connect to O2 email servers.

PAYM and using the O2 mobileweb settings allows connection to any pop3 or IMAP servers.

Im also on O2 pre pay and as usual pre pay customers always get 2nd best. No email does not work on O2 pre pay and its disgusting when other networks allow it. I have to resort to using G Mail application which is rubbish in itself. Your limited how much you can write.

I suppose you could send your email through smtp.o2.co.uk (haven't checked that is the correct address) and in gmail settings forward your gmail mail to your o2 email account.

Thats assuming o2 email does work on PAYG.

just wondering if you made an o2 internet account on your phone manually using the mobileweb settings, would that work?

If you google o2 mobileweb settings i'm sure you'll find the settings you need to enter into the phone.

I use pay and go on o2....

It does pick up my ISP broadband provider's email, using the pop setting for the broadband ISP email....

For out going... I use smtp.o2.co.uk with username@o2.co.uk and my o2 account password...

I am using a 3G connection... and works for me...

It has been trial and error over the last few years...
