Check the resolution. And making new flash menus isn't that easy. You open one finished and working existing flash menu and get the example from it. See the way it's made and then try to modify it or make a new one.

in adobe flash cs3, when you create a new document select for flash lite, then select w660
Actually heres a better example, create a new document. On the new document screen press templates, click on global handsets, then click sony ericsson 176x220

i've found a way of having your .swf files as start up screen without using XS.
download ur desireed .swf files anywhere or make your own. just make sure they are set as flash lite 1.1 under the device setting of Macromedia Flash 8.
on your W660i,
1. click menu>settings>display>startup (select it)
2. click Picture>Pictures and browse to where your .swf files are stored.
3. Select your desired .swf file
4. now back to ur main menu.
5. restart your phone and walah. it should start with your .swf files
i made one with myself. a .swf slideshow of my pictures and my daughter (10 images)

i guess you better use that 10 pics as your screensaver?
It won't show all of the 10pics if you set it as startup screen are they?
If they are then it will take sometimes to really complete starting up your phone?
