Hi, I've recently purchased the c902 from Indonesia and brought it over to the USA. Tonight was the first time I've had the chance to open the package and tinker with the phone. After about 2+ hours of charge, and while connected to the PC Suite, the phone's screen simply went blank.

I can still make, receive phone calls, take pictures, play songs etc., but I cannot see anything on the screen. After further inspection, I can actually faintly see the screen if I shine it with a very bright light. At first I thought it had something to do with the screen brightness, so following the 3D model from the Sony Ericsson website, I tried to increase and decreased the brightness to no avail.

I then turned off the phone, removed the battery, waited 30 seconds to make sure all remaining power to be drained away, and restarted the phone after putting everything back together. That didn't work either.

Then, I hooked it up to SEUS and upgraded its firmware. According to this forum, most likely to the R3DA026. Nothing changed either.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? If so, am I missing anything? I've fired off an email to support, and will wait until morning before I call the 800 number here in the US, but I doubt they can help me because they don't carry this phone here.

So I've basically done everything short of flying back to Indonesia to slap the phone dealer right upside his head with the dead phone. Any hints would be greatly appreciated at this point. Thanks in advance.

Must be hardware failure. Only other thing it could be is light sensor but when you power on the SE logo would be lit up. If it isnt lit up then definately hardware failure and needs warranty replacement.

You might face problem claiming the warranty as you bought the phone in Indonesia.

You two are spot-on.

I called support and they did tell me that it sounds like it's only a couple of lights that stopped working and it is very much fixable here in the States even if they don't have the phones here. However, because I had purchased it from somewhere else, it is considered out of warranty and I would have to pay $185 out of pocket, not including shipping and handling.

Sigh, this is turning out to be quite an adventure. It'll cost about the same if I were to ship the phone to Indonesia and back here. Or, I can wait until December when my cousins leave the US to visit their parents there. Oh decisions, decisions. You guys have been great, thanks.
