I suppose you are all enthousiastic about the T68. I know I am
,especially since Ericsson finally decided to drop the chimney-like antenna.
The previous Ericsson-models never caught my atention(good technology but way to boring design), but the T68 made me change my mind, my Sony CMD-Z5 had to go....
I hope when Sony and Ericsson introduce a jointly developed GSM next year, Nokia will loose its dominant position. A lot of you think that also, going on the 'NO Nokia...'-backgrounds available
Just some thoughts...feel free to eloborate...

As long as Sony/Ericsson has the ability to pump out mass quantities of units, then their market share will definately increase. Shame because it seems like they can't make enough T68's at the moment.
Remember, one of the reasons why Nokia is in the position it is now is because of its ability to flood shops with handsets. We know how popular the 3310/30 is and shops never sell out of that phone.

Completely agree with that. I suppose that Ericsson never thought the T68 and T65 would be such a hit, especially when you look at the price of the T68 (here in Belgium the T68 is not subsidised by operators).
But I hope they put their production up to the demand without loosing sight of Quality.
This to avoid the problems the new Nokia 9210 seems to have, random software-bugs crashes, everything except a BSOD
And that with a phone of more then 1000 euros!!

Sony's design is usually "streamlined", Ericsson's more "european",..different lines and more curves.
The metallic prototype is a mix of these two design-lines.
The prototype still stands a bit out, because of the sliding panel underneath, and the large color-display, and therefore its pretty hard to categorize.
I think the new Sonyericsson's will be a mix in design/style. Still hard to say
I hope the new phones, will look more like Ericsson than Sony,...Ericssons design appeal more to the europeans, I guess.
Sony's very good with consumer-products,..I guess a lot of the software will be mostly Sony.

Hmmm yes when it comes to selling them, but tyheir support is one of the worst I know. Just ask around on the forums of the CMD-Z5-phone and the Clie-PDA's.(I own both Z5 and Clie-PEGS300) Great hardware but lousy support.
So let's go for a mixed design, but please let Ericsson inspire the support.( Imailed Ericsson support with some question and I got a helpfull response within 24 hours, now that is what I call support).

Ericsson is very good here. I've used the Sonyericsson support too, they are very fast.
The service centers in DK are very good too, always very helpful and you always get latest upgrades for free,..even though you havent bought the phone at that specific center, you still get upgrade for free, with a "smile"

I suppose the reason why Ericsson is so good at support is that Ericsson in the past has dealt a lot with companies as clients (with their networking division) and those clients rely heavily on support and make a point of it when it doesn't do its job. While Sony is almost entirely consumer-driven, so they think they can afford some poor support(save some money...that they will loose eventually by people going to the competition...)

I think design elements is worthy enough. For me, possibly the nice well spaced keypad.
