Have O2 stopped offering 12 month contracts? Just looked at their web site as my contract is about to end and they've only got 18 or 24 mths. Does anyone know if I still get a 12 mth one if I go to a store?

when i did my upgrade 2 months ago the only way i could get a 12 month deal was on the Simplicity deal i think they offered me 600 minutes 1000 texts and a choice of bolt on, for £20 or £25 per month but no new handset

Yep they have. Check this thread all about it:
O2 Stops Offering 12 Month Contracts

And this should have been posted in the Network Operators" Forum.

I am on an 18 month contract anyway. I think other networks have stopped it as well.

I did an upgrade in June I have been on a 12 month contract 3 years, never mentioned that they were not going to offer 12 month contracts.

If the same happens next May then I am off, I will never take out an 18 month contract, waste of money IMO.

Has anyone tried telling O2 they don't want to renew to an 18mth contact and cancelling. Do O2 come back later and offer you a 12mth contact to get you to stay?

Just spoke to O2 about upgrading and they said OK to stay on existing 12 mth contact. If I moved to the £35 one to get free WiFi bolt on, that would require a 18mth one. Guess new contracts would have to start at 18mth but they don't force you to change what you've already got.

From what I was told re: 12mth contracts, you could stay on one but there wasn't much in the way of choice - the only SE phone was the C702i (yuck!).

I'm after the KC910 which they said I could have but have to wait until Monday to order. It sounded as if there'd be no problem getting the C905 if I wanted (checked as other phone I was looking at).

Well, last week I spoke to O2 who said I can get the new phone and stay on my 12 mth contract, but would have to call back the following week to arrange as it's not available until then. Phoned today and it's all changed, can only get the phone on the 18 mth contact. Bye bye O2.
