> T303 drains battery in standby
Bookmark topic
Hi,
though I'm still quite happy with the phone in general, one thing bothers me.
The battery drains within 2,5 days without usage (only standby, backlight off). For a promoted usage of 400h standby and 9h talktime, I find that a little on the short side to say the least.
My SE K770i (main phone) has the same batterylife specs and last me for at least a week including calls and (lots of) texting.
Somehow the T303 also does not report the remaining batterypower correctly. The battery life bar at the top seems to have no relation to the actual charge.
When the charge bar is about 85% full, the phonestatus tells me it has a charge of about 60%
Also, the charge drops from around 60% to zero overnight, where 100% to 65% takes 2 days.
The phone is still covered by warrenty, should I bring it back? Or is this just a flaw of the t303?
I accept that when in poor coverage areas, the battery life drops. I accept that promoted battery life of 400h usually means 200 hours in reality.
But I find a 60h standby time is really stretching the plausible explanations SE themselves give.
I'll try the tips I found in the other posts about short battery life and report back if any of them help.

Simple answer, your battery has not been treated well,
buy a replacement and MAKE SURE ITS A GENUINE

Genuine batteries shouldn't be like that. It may be faulty one or fake (as mentioned above). Replace it to solve the problems, and make sure you are running the latest firmware version on the phone.

The battery is genuine (I checked) and the phone is 3 weeks old. I bought it in a Vodafone store.
Unfortunately, due to the Vodafone firmware, I cannot update it (at least, it says "no updates available" when I try).
Today I had a record low of 20hrs in standby. Phonestatus said 10%, charge indicator was 3/4 full.
I guess it's back to the store then... Must be a faulty battery, since I read so many positive reviews about the great standby time
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

You could try debranding the vodafone firmware if you want to update and have the latest genuine firmware in the phone. I think totalgsm can debrand your phone, but it's not free (anyway worth spending the money).

I have an unbranded T303,
and after updating to the newest firmware, the battery bar still doesn't show the real charge, even if checking the phone status as 80%, the battery bar still shows a fully charged battery. Then if the battery life drops to 50%, still it's showing only 1/4 decrease in the batter bar.
I have also noticed that it always says Theme corrupted, even if you use a version 4.6 theme for it.

The T303 isn't A2, I'm pretty sure.
