Hello there,

I bought a k850i off eBay (I know, silly idea) and I'm now having some issues with the touch keys.

Normally they work fine, but sometimes they just completely stop working, I have to take the battery out and put it back in to restart the phone to get it to work.

Does anyone know what's wrong?

You may try to push them very soft , I mean very very soft....., my friend's K850 has the same problem and his solution is to push very softly the touchkeys

Sorry for my english btw....

It may be firmware issue aswell (or hardware if you are not lucky)... That is one of the K850's common issues many people before you had. Perhaps you can try updating the phone's firmware (using SEUS) or get it to service center to get it fixed for free if it is stull under warranty.

Sorry to hear about that, some ones are unlucky. Update the firmware or do a reset settings and if that works then it was a software fault and is fine. However if the problem persists, it may be a hardware fault which in that case you will need a new keypad. Maybe you pushed them too hard? They don't need t be pressed that hard, on mine I do it quick softly. It sound though like a software fault as taking the battery out fixes it. Which is good news. But yeah try Reset Settings on your phone first then try SEUS... Good Luck, let us know what happens.

Hi, had the same problem myself, defo software issue as when they work, they work fine, problem occurs when phone goes into powersave and screen turns off, the touchscreen buttons are turned off but dont come back on when u press any keys and restore screen - updated to R1FA035 via SEUS but this didn't cure problem. I've found a workaround though, after screen goes into powersave press volume rocker twice (up or down) with a second or two delay between (screen shows grey/white with the time displayed, just like the screensaver of k800i used to) then press the touchscreen buttons and (for me anyway) they are back working again.

BTW if anyones managed to get a later update than R1FA035 for unbranded K850i - let me know if there are any other improvements, pls

Do SEUS first then check if the problems still persist...
