Hi People.

I have just bought myself a new laptop. It has windows xp home.

The fllowing applies to my t68i, although i don't think it's important because it doesn't get as far as checking ports or phone connections. I have got a usb datacable which works with the ericsson sync software and communication suite just fine on my old computer, but when i try to install the software on my laptop it gets a fair way through the installation, until xtnd connect, then says 'Purchase' and uninstalls everything. This is the with the cd i got with my t68i and also is the same with any packages i download. This is not limited to any particular package, just any with xtndConnect. Again, i don't think this has anything to do with the phone, cable or connection method as this isn't used until the software is installed and the installation process doesn't seem to do any probing.

Any help would be appreciated.

if it's not compatible with xp home i might cry.

Hiya!

I'm having excatly the same problem!!

I'm running XP Proffesional SP1 and have Outlook XP installed. The XTNDConnect software starts to install and then comes up with 'Purchase'. I have to click 'OK' then it uninstalls.

Have you got Outlook installed?? Or better still..have you have found a solution??

Cheers!

Setup asked you how do you want to install xtnd software. What option did you choose? Its important. This message was posted from a T65

Hi,

I chose to install the outlook only one, the one that says you do not have to purchase (this is the same as i have installed on previous machines with no problem).

I have solved the problem but it was some time ago.......
I think i downloaded the backage which ONLY contained xtndconnect, modem drivers and mobile phone monitor... hmmm, the only packages i have on my computer are, and none of these are just that:

R4APackage2.exe
Package5_1_5_3.exe
and
R4APackage4.exe

One, or a combination of these packages gave me EVERYTHING. But as i said, it was a while back and i can't remeber what i did!!!!

All i know, is i spent a damn long time experimenting and got there in the end.

If you are instaling XTND Connect, you need to have Microsoft Outlook installed not Outlook Express. XTND Connect runs on Windows XP, been running that since.

Yeah, i had both installed but it still wouldn't work, so i set outlook to default for everything, and i think it went some distance to helping, now i have outlook express back as default and it's still working fine.
