Iris creates Bond application for Sony Ericsson

LONDON - Sony Ericsson is turning its phones into high-tech spy gadgets to promote its association with the upcoming James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.

A website, created by iris Digital, will host an interactive movie which test a player's secret agent skills across four special spy missions.

Upon successful completion of each level, the site will deliver a code, which players can use to unlock exclusive mobile phone applications.

Each application available to download is Bond-themed, among them a function which turns a player's camera phone into a wireless spy cam, as well as a fingerprint scanner, x-ray viewer and universal detector that makes a user's phone seem more like something from Q's lab.

Is your someone stealing your beers from the fridge when you're not about but don't know who it is?

The wireless spy-cam application on this phone is what you need, although I wish it could be downloaded from elsewhere.

Sony_Ericsson_unveils_007_campaign.

It takes pics with your mobiles camera when it senses movement and automatically sends them to your email inbox.

I'm wondering if it can be downloaded anywhere else.

So i'm guessing the phone won't work when using this application 'cos you wouldn't want your 'beer snatcher' to add your brand new c902 when it rings in his gift basket...So ultimately, you'd have to have a spare phone or not use this app at all. Or you would have to spend money to get a bluetooth handset and put the phone on silent. Nice app none the less...

Well you could always divert all calls to Voicemail, put your phone on silent and turn the vibration off I suppose.

I'm sure thats what 007 does anyway.

There are now a couple of apps for free download at sonyericsson.com/bond, including the spycam app that takes pics in a certain intervall and emails you these pics.

(plus some fun apps, xray, fingerprint scanner and such.)

I just tried the apps. Really only suitable for 12 year olds

My niece will get a kick out them.

the ROB-1 is much better for this job I think, but with some modifications, such as wifi connection to control it over the internet and so on. At least I don't need to leave my phone at home, and I can control the camera and make it move. cool
