Bookmark topic
Anybody here got a mobile phone from the Link with their free gift promo of a free xbox with certain phones? Im thinking of gettin a k770 with xbox 360 and pes 08, 1100 mins from Three, all for £27/mth. Has anybody brought of the Link any phone with a free gift? It would hlp me decide whether im making a safe choice.
tnx

sounds a bit too good to be true offer. Where I live, a k770 is about the same as an xbox 360, so yea, a bit scammish

@yea g, The Link is a high street retail chain that is all over UK, I'd very much doubt that they are scammers. Sure, they've got rubbish sales people and poor support, but thats not much different from any other high street phone retail store.
@mafiosa786, you might want to check out places like
dialaphone too, from whom you can get xbox, or PS3, or lots of other extras with your phones

Ummm, ok, couple of mistakes right there...
The Link retail store were sold to O2 (and a few others here and there) over 2 years ago, they don't have retail stores any more. How do you think I ended up working for O2, by choice?
And their certainly not dodgy with their freebies. When we used to have them at our The Link store, we would actually have all the freebies in the stock room, unlike Carphone Warehouse who you had to wait for them on 'order'.
The reason they offer so much for free is because a) they're owned by DSG who back them for the freebies (Dixons, PC World and Currys), so it costs them nothing to give away 360's etc.

really? lol. There's still a mobile phone shop in Crawley where The Link used to be, and I was sure it was still The Link! It wouldn't be O2 as 5 or 6 doors down there's a bit O2 shop.
I guess I'll have to pay more attention next time I go into town

Yep, see thats the problem, for a good year after we changed over and had a complete re-fit, people STILL didn't know we were an O2 shop, and people think they've moved from down the road to where we are etc. Honestly, people just don't use their eyes when their on the highstreet, I always notice when shops have moved
And we were never given the option to move somewhere else in DSGi, we were just told we're becoming O2, and we were fine with that, seemed so much more 'polished' than The Link, which was more like the "bits of cardboard and brightly coloured paper" approach lol.
