My p1i is no longer alerting me of new text messages/voicemails/emails. It no longer beeps when I get a text message. It no longer displays an envelope or voicemail icon. It does not connect to my t-mobile gprs to download new pop3 emails. When I go to my textmessage inbox I will see text messages, but in the home screen it shows 0 messages. Really weird.

The phone's screen also will not completely shut off in standby. I've played with all the backlight settings with no luck. The phone just dims to the point of almost turning off but never shuts off. It's draining my battery too quick. It used to shut down the screen after 30 secoinds, now it sits on all the time.

Can anyone help? This used to be a good phone. I've only had it for about 2 months.

I tried taking the battery out and left it out overnight to reset but still have same problems. I did not install any apps like iphonelock. I even uninstalled the blackberry app that came with the phone but it still does not work.

I also tried changing themes but it did not help.

Anyone else have ideas?

OK so i finally sync'd my phone up and did the dreaded Master Reset...

Everything worked perfectly after the reset so I got on the phone with T-Mobile so they could send the programming instructions to my phone for internet access and MMS setup.

Everything was great until I received a text message from "129" and there was no text in the message body. After that, the phone went back to not alerting and not shutting off the screen. I didn't htink anything of it, but there was a "129" message in my inbox before my phone went coo-coo the first time.

It's like the phone is still "thinking" about something... weird.

Now I have to do a reset again...

Anyone know what's up? I read that the "129" message is a carrier service that allows people to "page" me and leave their phone number as a text message for a call-back, but it seems to throw the phone for a loop.

Please help. Anyone else experience this? I hate haveing to reset each time a "129" message comes.

This morning my phone is back to not alerting for messages and the backlight is not turning off again. I did not receive a "129" message, so it must be something else.

Could it be that I have 3 pop3 email accounts that the phone is set to automatically update every 60 minutes?

This should not cause a prob but maybe it's too much for the phone to handle...

Going to do a master reset again for the 4th time! This sucks because it's a pain to have to go back and redo all my settings, ringtones, speed dials, email settings, shortcuts, etc.

Please help.

did you change the resource files on the phone. more specifically the icons which show on the taskbar in the ZBLIB folder. Remove them, from your memory card, and you should start receiving messages again.

try this before a master reset

I sometimes have these problems, in my case they seem to be unrelated.

Shutting down the screen:

After restart, the phone sometimes (most of the times) does not dim the backlight on timeout. Also my Java app cannot control backlight - just no effect (normally it can turn backlight on and off). To cure it, I click battery charge icon and then "Settings" - backlight blinks (changes brightness) and everything's OK.

Missing SMS notifications:

It happens but not very often. Restarting the phone fixes the problem.
