The prank calls. On the day of the RADIO broardcast there were only 2 complaints. Now theres 10000 lol. Its just people moaning again like about that little big planet. I like music cuz its about the only thing that isnt sensored. Surely though cuz it was a RADIO broardcast the rules dont apply. Such as there can be swearing at anytime on the radio but not on tv. I know for a fact there can be swearing on the radio at anytime cuz someone tried get the bbc for it but it was legal.

My personal opinion - they should sack both of them. Inexcusable behaviour!

To be honest Doug, as an avid listener to Russell Brand's Saturday night radio show, this kind of thing is nothing unusual and I find it quite funny when he is talking to the people that actually answer the phone.
Andrew Sachs must have been aware of his style before agreeing to do the interview.
That said I do believe they went too far with what they said, they should never have left any messages on the answer phone, that is there mistake which could have been handled better.
I feel the real people at fault here are those who let the show go out as doing so has caused the real damage. The whole affair could have been kept private and apologies could have been issued without everybody knowing the ins and outs!
I know the behaviour is inexcusable now it is out, but they are a pair of comedians who "thought" it was funny, and like I say Russell ridicules somebody each week as it is his way of being funny.

Being an old fart like doug, i agree with him on this, TBH i don't get the Mighty boosh, however i can understand the imagination and creativity that goes into that program.
Russel brands whole career is based upon him shagging various people, and then slagging them off afterwards, no real talent required there IMO.
Leaving a disgusting message on an old mans answerphone and then broadcasting it afterwards is pretty damn sick i reckon, sack the both of em i say!!

However its on radio2 a free service kindly put out with 2 highly known presenters. You know its their first error in i dont know how many years and they got permission before they did the prank and the beeb allowed it to go on air. They are only a minor part of the chain. I love the show friday night with johnothen ross and watch it every friday and its no differant to any other comedy show.

Exactly MWEB leaving the message is one thing but then allowing it to be broadcast to the nation is another!
Andrew Sachs must have known what he was getting into, there are countless old men who have endured the wrath of Russell via telephone on his radio show and many have given back as good as they have got and it has all been in good fun and has had me in fits of laughter, one of the best was with Peter Sallis.
I agree that they went overboard, and Ross shouting "he f*c*ed your granddaughter" is bang out of order.
BUT this could have and should have been stopped from being broadcast, it could have been nipped in the bud, without all of the hurt being caused.
It COULD have all been settled in private with the message being kept within the BBC and Sachs house, and I feel that those who let the "prerecorded" show go out are responsible!!
Brand and Ross made the gun the BBC pulled the trigger!

Quite true, misguided producers who allowed the thing to air bear some responsibility too.

To be honest this isnt that big a deal but there are many out there who dont like these 2 presenters anyway so are just jumping on the bandwagon. Im sure the people on fonejacker are not that amused either but then again they dont stoop that low in terms of content.
The silly thing though is that this was a pre recorded show so whichever muppet approved that content deserves to be sacked for sure. I dont like how much Ross makes so would love to see him sacked.
This will no doubt reignite the age old question of why we are still paying for the BBC licence fee.
