I've got my W910i now for 2 weeks or so, but I've got some problems. The button on top for the Walkman doesn't work when I'm not in the Walkman player. When i go in my menu to open the Walkman player because i can't open it with the button, nothing happens. I can only start it by going into the Media menu and then choosing music and so on. Sure, it ain't a big problem but it just should work, right?

Another thing is that i can't play games anymore. I just can't open the menu... It just says 'Operation Failed'.

Try SEUS to reinstall the firmware. That is free.

Put all content on memory card and take out the memory card whilst updating.

Reflashing/updating your phone through SEUS will make your phone just like it was just out from the box, any games/apps/ringtones/videos/themes that are installed by user and stored in phone memory will be lost.
As for your data you can use MyPhoneExplore to back it up easily before doing the process

Not true. SEUS only flashes the main firmware, not the FS.

A full Master Reset will make the phone look like new. A Settings Reset will reset the software and settings, but not user data.

This is 100% correct MPE is tops.

Actually it is true. SEUS has been changed within the last few months to flash both and you lose all of your user data on the phone including games/apps/ringtones/videos/themes, etc.

Oh shit, sorry, my bad.

Well that's a shame, how stupid that you have to reset your phone to factory just to get a factory firmware update. Are SE gonna pay for people's Games they have paid to download, or DRM music downloaded to the phone just so they can update? (I do neither - I buy DRM free music, and I download games to my K800 where I can then use FAR MANAGER to copy the game to my computer. But most end user's aren't that sophisticated. ) Or for their time setting up their phone all from scratch again?

I agree that it does seem a bit unnecessary to us end-users, but I don't think SE would have started doing it unless they had found a reason for it.

I do the same as you though... All my games and music is on my computer and so I can just transfer it all over whenever I need to, but I know a lot of people who purchase stuff from their network and they lose all of it when they update! And the network just thinks they're lying if they try to claim it back (partially a result of outsourcing their call centres to Egypt).

One thing that pisses me off is how if you're part-way through a phone game or you have really good high scores, you lose them all during the updating process.
