I have this P1i here and I tought something was up with the theme/background having tiny black dots, like a raster. It happens to be on the screen. Is this normal? My M610i does not have this, and it is very annoying to say the least. Its also present in camera mode when I look at an even colour its easy to see the dots. Anyone know more about this?

Could it be a cluster of dead/stuck pixels on the screen? If so, I don't think there's much you can do except replace the screen afaik.

Its not a cluster, they are evenly spaced out tiny little black dots, just like a raster. I'm updating the phone to the latest firmware now to see if that fixes anything if not it will be returned to the shop. SEUS found a newer firmware so we'll see if that fixes anything. They're definitely not dead/stuck pixels, I've seen my fair share of those and they're never this neat/tidy and evenly spaced out.

Updated the firmware to the "latest" O2 firmware, as I can't change the CDA due to warranty issues. The problem has not gone away, and if it is not normal to have this raster of black dots will be returned to the shop.

I've tried to take a picture of it but the dots are very small, they start on top and go all the way down to the bottom, evenly spaced, very tidy.

evenly spaced dots? Are you sure you aren't talking about the resistive screen? What you're seeing is a natural feature of the five wire resistive screens used in UIQ3 phones....

They seperate dots, evenly spaced yes. My M610i does not have it, its very visible with an even coloured red picture viewed full screen. It does not look like the lines they got in Sony Trinitron telly's. You sure this is normal for P1i screens?

@blerk

Yes, it's normal.

I had it on all of my P1i's (>10).

Cheers myth, your opinion matters as you're as picky as me with these things. also the SE name next to the logo on the battery cover is a bit loose, normal too? I will drop a bit of glue in there.

No, that's not normal

But you should be able to fix it easily..

(I would replace the battery cover )

Yeah, I wonder why my M610i touch screen doesnt have it. Could it be because its a proto type and has a different screen? Ahwell..
