Hi Everyone,

I have a k800i - branded to UK operator Three and I need it to accept my vodafone contract sim as my contract phone died!

I've been searching and searching trying to find out how to de-brand the phone so that I can use any sim in it but I'm really, really confused as to how I need to do it, can someone explain it to me in english?

I've seen this post on this site here: http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?k=98987

And it's asking me to download firmware, FS firmware, XS++ V2.0 and flash drivers. I have no idea what they are or where to get them from.

Can anyone help, please? I'm desperate for a phone!

Debranding wont unlock your phone. You need to unlock the phone adding a patch(not permanently) and paying for it(permanently).

Where can I get a patch from and how would I apply it then for the short term? How long is "short term"?

Obviously will have to go and pay for it, but if I can get a patch in the meantime that would help me out so much!

It will stay unlock as long as you dont flash the MAIN of the phone or do an upgrade with SEUS.

Thanks again for replying, sorry to keep asking dumb questions but could you please explain exactly what I need to do to unlock it?

I have never done this before, but I do know computers so any info you can give would be really, really great!

Look for setool 2 lite first and then check what cid your phone is. if it's cid53 you wont be able to do so.

Yes, mate. you can check it with XS++ also. but you will be able to patch with setool only. XS++ doesnt patch.

thank you! Just tried to download setools but it has a virus inside it and my antivirus software doesnt like it, is there an official site to download this from?

It usually detects it as a virus. Try to download the latest version, 1.11
