for some reason when i receive a txt now it doesnt come up as a notification so i have to go thru the menu and open it up from there, anyone know how to get it bk so it comes up as a notification ?

You need to help us out a bit here. It must do something, otherwise you wouldn't know you had a text in the first place, so what does it do instead of a notification? Do you have any extra symbols at the top of your front screen you don't recognise?
Harry, with Acivity Menu switched off, you still get a Pop Up when you get a message. I struggle to understand getting nothing at all.

Symptomns:
Texts don't appear as new events (pop-up OR shortcut menu)
Cause:
The phone was in use during a specific operation type, whilst a text was recieved, caussing a script in the firmware to no ignore the text as a new event. When the operation is exited the script fails to reset.
Solution:
Restart your phone.
