I dont think any of these run on AA's.

Heck I dont think theres a DSLR that does, but Fujifilm arre most likely to

If you go off the AA criteria make sure you get a Canon

Most of the Fuji Finepix S series run an AA batts, they are not DSLR`s but they are close, good specs, big zooms etc. Have alook at the S6500 or the S8100fd.

Some DSLR`s will allow you to run on AA batts by means of an adaptor/tray that goes into the battery compartment, i have an "old" nikon D70 and i got a AA tray that can fit if the rechargebale batts run out, also got a tray for the battery grip too which takes 6 AA batts. No idea on batt life with AA`s tho as the rechargeables never seem to run out and i have not as yet used the option but the backup is good

Canon EOS 1000D, it doesn't run on AAs, it'll probably be a rechargeable or something.
It's a pretty good camera for £390:
* 10.1 MP CMOS sensor
* Up to 3fps
* 7-point wide-area AF
* Self-Cleaning Image Sensor
* 2.5” LCD with Live View mode
* DIGIC III processor
* SD/SDHC card slot
* Picture Styles processing
* Compact and lightweight
* Compatible with EF/EF-S lenses and EX Speedlites

Though if you want something better, you're probably better off looking through eBay a bit. I've seen a few 40Ds for about that price.

Just had a look at my D40 battery draw and it's so teeny that it doesn't even look like 2AA's will fit in there!
If you're worried about juice running low though you really shouldn't, taken hundreds of photos on mine after getting it just a month ago and I've only ever charged it twice (or three times including when I first got the camera and it was flat)
Any Q's about the camera and I can answer them for you too by the way.

Nothing like the good ol day and film

Canon DSLR like the 30D, 40D etc do have the ability to have "emergency" battery set up in the power pack and so on. Like what Streetgang said really.....

Before I bought my DSLR, I studied hard about some decent DSLR’s features, price, accessories etc and later I found Canon S5-IS is the best choose on that price segment because it is provide more feature than others.
You should study a little bit, try to Google to find a compares between your prefer DSLR’s, read reviews then decide.
