Hi all. Its good to be posting on Esato forums again, Used to own a K700i but then changed to a Nokia N70 (bad bad choice) and stoped using the forums.
Recently came back to SE, got a C905 on my latest upgrade although i had to pay a fair bit and already im not happy!.

I got my phone yesterday charged it up today, and at the back where the slider is for the Camera lens.. i think its loose or something, If i touch it ever so slightly it wiggles and it activates the camera mode, you can also shake the phone and it will wiggle the lens cover at the back and it activates the camera.. then cuts back to the main screen.

Im thinking this is an issue, unless theres a way to disable this. Im going to phone o2 if not because i paid £99 for the phone and it looks like its defective already

Unrelated hardware issue, when im on youtube either in WiFi mode or using my data internet connection... I can't seem to load YouTube videos? Any issues with this

Yes, both of these problems seem common, although there is a difference between the lens cover just being loose (mine sure is) and the camera being accidentally activated. The streaming problem has recently been discussed in the main C905 thread.

I think i'm going to phone O2 and say. Im trying to type or something and if my finger accidently brushes against it it takes me to camera mode. So this is an issue in all of the phones then? Is it likely to happen again if i ask for another replacement model?

Im fastly becoming interested in another phone. You shouldn't have to pay that much for a phone that doesn't work

The camera accidentally starting you should not accept and will not happen with all units. I have never had that happen.

Ok. I'll give them a call then.
So you say you also have a loose lens cover but it doesn't start your camera up then shut it down, constantly?

Sorry to keep asking the same question over and over. I just hate spending money for something not to work. It annoys me that i can access youtube, just not watch things. Or that im typing and i set it off :S

I had the exact same problem with the one O2 sent me. They replaced it with very little hassle (although it took a few days for them to get more stock).

The one I have now is better but slightly wobbles on the slider (not as much as the first though, that one was horrendous), but I put that down to SE's build quality, not seen or held a single C905 that doesn't have a wobbly slider!

It really worries me reading about all these issues.

I've had two handsets in the past week.
Both have been tight. The second one has a slight wobble in the lense cover but it's nothing to complain about. Now I look at it closely the left hand side of the phone has a minuscule amount of play in the up/down motion (not slide up/down the other up/down) where as the right hand side sits close.

The way I look at it now, is that after months there is gonna be a bit of wear n tear so I'm happy. Before long I'll get my torx on it and have it apart for a clean anyway so if I can tighten it then I will.

I couldn't reply yesterday due to the new members being limited to 3 posts per day.

I phoned o2 and the first woman i spoke to set me up for a C902 until i pointed out that i had paid more for the C905 which she then moaned about, disapeared for 10 minutes to check if they had any in stock, told me no and to phone back another time. Phoned back 10 minutes later annoyed at the service and the next guy said they had the phones in stock and he would arrange a door to door swap for me. So they are coming on friday, although im going to have to re-phone again because they should have e-mailed me a returns number and i don't have it yet.

I've been reading through a lot of the discussions and im wondering if i made the wrong choice in buying the C905. The build quality seems to be terrible, and people are having software issues.. For example i'm quite annoyed i can't get YouTube working and it seems to a be common problem, but whats the point in paying all that money for half the features not to work. I didn't even get to try the navigation out or any other features as i didnt want to risk damaging the phone before it went back.
