hi,

i just unlocked my t68i from a cingular network. i am currently using a voicestream sim chip, but the wap service available is only for cingular. how do i change the wap settings so that i can get on the internet with my voicestream account? i unsuccessfully tried looking for settings or configuration under the wap menu. PLEASE help, i am lost, and would love to see the wap working...THANKS

I'm having the same issue with a T68i I bought unlocked on eBay. I can set up a DATA COMM profile for T Mobile, but can't add a WAP Profile. In fact from my main menu, my option says WEB Services instead of WAP Services, and under WEB SERVICES / OPTIONS I only have the sub menu called COMMON No ADD WAP PROFILE option shows up. Please post if you have an answer to this!

Tried to go to Sonyericsson.com and use the WAP configurator, but it didn't list the United States under the country selections. I tried Canada and nothing came up there, so tried UK and did get an SMS install message, but I'm sure it's got the wrong settings for T-Mobile here in Hot-lanta. Still don't know why these menu options are locked/missing and why the firmware upgrade didn't change them. I've been prowling the web all day and can't find any answers.

i called voicestream today, and it turns out the wap services is locked, and cannot be fixed through them...they recommended talkin to ericcsson, they might be able to upgrade the software....if anyone else has come across this problem and has any solutions or suggestions please post...thanks

You need upgrade your unit to a Non customized version, need a generic version, without any operator config, i have the same problem and i go to upgrade to R7A, regards

Found a solution to the disabled WAP settings on T68i.

Sung from Virtual Dynamix provided the following:

"SE will not do this type of service for you as your phone is a subsidized phone (Cingular) and therefore, limited by whatever customizations made by Cingular. The phone requires multiple flashes. Initialization of the flash memory is done first to remove all settings and software installed on the phone. Next, firmware is downgraded to T68m R2B, then upgraded to T68i MMS R2E, and finally upgraded to the latest revision R6A."

Note that a standard firmware upgrade doesn't fix this issue, and that your phone being fully unlocked doesn't do it either.

may i know what procedure the cingular network do to unlocked ur t68i? i have a problem with my t68i the unit packed there in usa by cingular network which now im using here in the philippines the problem is the same as with weirhouse in my wap services there is no bookmark enter adress and in the option only common is there the wap profile is missing t00 thats why i cannot enter the other website i can only enter in default homepage which is myglobe. i ask the service center here in philippinesand they advised me to get the unlocked code cozz the word EXPRESS AS WELL WITH CINGULAR HOME CINGULAR ROAM WAS IN MY WAP PROFILE UNDER DATA ACCOUNTS WEN I TRY TO DELETE IT STATED THOSE TRHEE CANNOT BE DELETED SO THATSWHY THE PHONE IS LOCKED BY CINGULAR. MAY I KNOW HOW CAN I GET THE LOCKED CODE OF THIS UNIT IT IS UNDER CINGULAR CAN U HELP ME ON THIS PROBLEM OR ANYBODY KNOWS HOW TO SETTLE THIS PROBLEM UR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED TY
