> Solved: X1 locks up after entering pin
Bookmark topic
Hi,
Left my home, had some stuff to do, brought my X1 even if it was locked/hung. Tried again to reboot and this time it worked, X1 booted ok after entering the PIN code. First thing I did was to uninstall "SPB Wireless Monitor 3.0". Rebooted and phone booted normally!
My guess is that for some reason the X1 got stuck after me entering the PIN code due to that at home I have associated my WLAN. When I was away from home the X1 was not able to connect to my WLAN and my guess is this had something to do with it.
Anyway "SPB Wireless Monitor 3.0" looks like a great piece of software and I would like to have it but I do not dare to install it again...
If someone know of a similar program as "SPB Wireless Monitor 3.0" please post a suggestion.
Best Regards,
/Magnus
Hi all,
I'm hoping that someone could help out with my issue.
Have had my X1 for a couple of weeks and it's working great. Have installed some apps on it and all working fine. Last night I installed "SPB Wireless Monitor 3.0" since I was interested in my network usage.
Installed on the SD card, all was fine and "SPB Wireless Monitor" asked to reboot my X1 to finish the install.
When staring up and after asking for my pin the phone hung. Powered of but when trying to start is again nothing happened, had to remove battery to be able to restart.
Once restarted, the phone hangs again after entering pin. So I thought that if I removed the SD card since "SPB Wireless Monitor" was installed there I might get in contact with my X1 again. Same thing happened after repeating the above process.
After multiple restarts a miracle happens, did not do anything different, the phone starts after entering my pin! I then uninstalled "SPB Wireless Monitor" from the SD card and reinstalled in on phone memory thinking that that would make it work...
How stupid I was, same thing happens. So I tried to not enter PIN and see if that made a difference, waited for a long time after entering PIN to see if the X1 comes back to life, no joy.
Then final idea was to connect my phone to my PC with Active Sync to see if that could connect to the phone and hoped that I from ActiveSync could remove "SPB Wireless Monitor". ActiveSync can connect prior to me entering the pin and I can select to remove the application but then after that X1 is hung and also "Add/Remove Programs" within ActiveSync is hung.
Even doing a total reset of the X1 (do really want to avoid that) you need to be able to start the phone, might be some other way to do it but unknown to me.
X1 support is not open during weekends, tried calling, and I'm going crazy, please help me so I can enjoy my X1 during the weekend and not have to go back to my P1i.
Best Regards,
/Magnus

You seem to have the same issue as me:

Do you still have this issue now (without SPB Monitor) when you reboot X1 being connected to your home wi-fi?

Hi
After I uninstalled "SPB Wireless Monitor" everything has worked fine, home WiFi, other WiFi and GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSPA connections works fine.
When I did the install of "SPB Wireless Monitor" I did have (still do) Good (email client) installed, my issues could have something to do with that. Good is not supportded officially on X1 but works. Would like to use outlook in the phone but my company uses Good.
@ronis I did not had to do a reset of my X1 only thing I did was to uninstall "SPB Wireless Monitor" once I was in a location where there where no WiFi, with no WiFi around the phone started. Try to remove any software that you did install just before your problems started and see if that helps.
