I'm looking at replacing my laptop with this :
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/503142/SONY-VGN-FW21L

Is now a good time to buy or would it be wise to hold off and see if prices come down ?? Also what do you guys think of the this lappy, is it a good machine ? Cant find many reviews.

Trouble with me is once i've decided to buy something I'm like a little kid and want it now . Lol

for that price you could get a acer aspire 5920 with a 256mb graphics card and 4gb of ram with blu-ray

The Acer seems a fair bit cheaper and hasnt got shared graphics but I'm wary when it comes to electricals of going for the cheap brands. I know absolutely nothing about Acer , spec also says white keyboard which doesnt sound appealing

The Sony also looks to have a more powerful processor and additional spec, am looking for something I wont out grow, have also been looking at : HP Pavillion DV6920 EA Intel Core 2 Duo Laptop

If you need the HDMI and the built in bluetooth go for the Sony, but i'd much rather get the real tiny bluetooth dongle and have the blu ray drive and save myself £180. The Acer has more RAM, same graphics and has a marginally slower processor based on it's bus speed

Well i went to look at the Sony yesterday and its really nice, looked at all the similar spec ones but still drawn to the Sony.

SO my next question is,

Is there any point in trying to get a better deal from them than the advertised price ??? , I'm rubbish at haggling , what should I ask or try to get thrown in ??

Any advice greatly appreciated, please.

they normally wont haggle or throw anuthing in free unless you take an extended warrenty. Its always worth a try at haggling though.
It is cheaper though if you reserve it online and pickup in store.

Thanks for the replies, tried my best haggling but they didnt budge, best i could do was get it in store for the online price and a tenner off a laptop case.

And here it is my new baby.

That looks uber cool, the keyboard is like the one on the MacBook which is kind of cool. Nice laptop you've got there, just some advice, do a clean install. Because the amount of bloatware which Sony put on is just not worth having.
