Hi!
I've recently bought a SE k810i from Orange Romania just discovered I can't acess the Activity menu via the designated button. That button starts regular Menu instead. No "New events" setting in General menu either...That is VERY annoying as it disables multitasking.
Any ideeas why this happened and how I can get it back? Didn't mess in any way with firmware, not even upgrade via SEUS. Did enter the service menu once though and it asked me something when I exited, but dind't pay attention.
Phone is R8BA024 and cid 52 as far as I can tell.
Some guy on se-nse said Orange branded phones miss the Activity menu and that I should debrand it. I very much hesitate to do that as my phone has 2 years warranty which I don't wanna lose. Isn't there a simpler way to make Activity menu reapear, such as only replacing a file in the file system or maybe modifying a command line inside one?
I have 3 buttons now that go to main menu :| Joystick, right softkey and activity button...DUMBDUMBDUMB

Can't the Activity button be reassigned?

LE. I just played with another Orange branded K810i and it is the same. Probably because of the Orange Homescreen option(default), which makes right softkey act as "Events" menu instead of main menu. Need to find a way to reassign the damn activity menu button

You can debrand your phone by flashing it with generic firmware. If it is CID52 you can flash it with XS++ by folowing the tutorial (see my signature for link and www.4shared.com for firmware files), but if it is CID53 you can flash it using totalgsm for example.

Debrand it, bro! Flash generic firmware into it, but remember to backup gdfs first! Anyway, dont worry too much on voiding your warranty, as you can just reflash your phone with the orange firmware just in case.

Thanx for answering. How do I backup everything that is Orange-specific? And is there a tutorial regarding the debranding process for K810i? Thanx

if you want to backup things from your phone, use MyPhoneExplorer. you can find it at the top of the software forum.
