Hello all,

I have never bought a single item from ebay. I am thinking now about doing the first purchase there. My question is not about security and fraud protection, but about price: how is it possible that a "NEW" W902 phone be so much cheaper than the list price or amazon?

Is new really new and the box sealed usually? What kind of profit do they make?

Note that it is sold from a respected ebay shop with thousands of byers and positive comments, so I suspect that it isn't fraud.

Thanks,
Ari.

I say, don't buy any phones on ebay. Full stop. I have bought many good, genuine looking phones on ebay. If you do sadly buy one make sure it clearly states that it is genuine and in good condition. So if it isn't you can claim

See that's the thing wiv ebay. You just don't know what your buying. That's why i like to go to the shop. Have a go on the phone, have a play. Much better

I've bought 4 phones off ebay, all SE flagship phone, I am always confident. I always buy from people who have had their phone as an upgrade and therefore want it gone asap so give it cheap. Pay with paypal, covers you 100%, a great security feature.

I once ordered a p910... about 4 years ago, and it's still working. It was a used one though, but in good condition.
I bought a lot of other stuff from ebay since then as well (~50). Mainly I buy cheap small electronic devices, directly from hongkong, which are much cheaper on ebay. But I also bought my video camera there.

I think the important thing is that you have to trust the seller, I mean investigate a little bit: does he have a lot of feedback, are the feedback recent, is this what he usually sels (ie if previously he was selling carpets, and now suddenly sells a phone, that's suspicious), etc.

If I were you I wouldn't, they could easily take the IMEI and get it blocked once it's sold. However, I haven't ever bought a phone off eBay so I wouldn't really know because I haven't had any experience.

I'm selling a tested, new c905 on Ebay, I got it from a friend who got it as a company gift at a cheap price. I won't offer insurance or returns, but at least I tested the phone and can verify it doesn't scratch the keypad, the camera works, WiFi works etc., the slider is tighter then on my c905, those are things a normal eTailer or brick and mortar store could or would not do but that an individual eBay seller can do. I only occasionally sell stuff on Ebay, usually it's a phone that I am upgrading from. I have also purchased a number of phones on Ebay and they have all been fine.
