It seems to be a common problem with a few batches of c905's. Just claim it on warranty.

I had this problem and they had to get a new part.
Flashing it with new software does it no good.

not (yet) another of the infamous dead earpiece problems on the c905.
i wonder if this is going turn out to be as unreliable as the k850, w910, and many other SE flagships
"Flashing it with new software does it no good. "
it's hardly surprising. the earpiece is what is known as hardware

Well if problems like this continue in the near future, C905 may take the crown and leadership of crappy phones... K850 had that destiny...

Success ratio of phones are generally in the ratio 90:1, and according to reports in my state, the success ratio is quite high.No problems as of now.

I had this problem with a C905 within 10 days of buying it, I took it back to the Carphone Warehouse and got another, so far so good.

Well no one says that every C905 phone has the problem with the earpice... I have read around the forum that some C905 have problems with the UP and DOWN keys... But many C905s work great too, so it's a bit luck when you are buying this phone.

should pay a little more attention to this and fix these issues.

My phone has developed the same problem.
But I noticed that pressing the 'C' button made the ear piece work while I was pressing it.
If you hold the 'C' button its mutes the microphone. Then hold the 'C' button again and it unmutes the microphone and now the ear piece works.
A quick fix but my phone will still be going back.
That suggests to me that it is a software issue
