after installing pcsuite for p800, i notice that when the p800 is not connected in the craddle, windows xp runs considerably slower than usual. all window animations and, the animations of the taskbar and the scrolling of web pages look like running at 2 frames per second

strangely when i connect the p800 everything is fine and runs at the same speed as it always did before buying the phone.

it seems that when it is not connected, the software is looking for the phone every second, and this slows the system.

does this happen to you?

isn't there any way of disabling that constant connection search? like an exe in msconfig i could disable and run only when i'm going to connect the phone...

it's a very stable and reliable (i take care of it a lot) system, it used to run very smoothly:

amd duron 650
320mb ram
20gb
tnt2 32mb

(enough, imo).

i have gone to my computer/properties/hardware/device manager/ports and there there is the "usb cable dcu-11". what looks strange is that it also says "com5". is this normal? if so, i go to properties and i see lots of options that look like if you optimize them you can get improvements, and my problem might be solved.

well, firstly i have increased the baud rate from default 9600 to 115000, should i increase it more?

about the rest of the options, shall some experimented user investigate what should we put? for example in flow control, the buffers... it would ve very appreciated.

Yeah, I have the same problem. somewhere between 40 and 60 % of my cpu is beeing hugged. When I go to task manager, it doesn't say, but in the performance tab, it is obvious, and I also feel the difference, everything is damn slow. I have figured out that I can kill a file kalled mRouterRuntime.exe and everthing works as normal.

The problem however, is that this file is what is needed for your computer to talk to your phone... And if you just start it up again, it doesn't seem to help. Need to log out of windows, and back in again to make my phone connect again.

Weird stuff... really hate it

i maybe wrong...but it maybe because of slow processor speed, having an amd duron 650...i have a p4 2ghz and it works fine...

Don't think it's because of the cpu speed... I have a T-bird 1,4Ghz, don't think that it should use 60% of the cpu when _NOT_ connected... it doesn't even use more than like 7% cpu when connected and moving files from pc to phone.

processor doesn't matter.

the problem is that the computer ran at a speed (slow or fast, doesn't matter) but now when the p800 is not connected it runs much slower than that.

terminating mrouter is a good solution.
