> Daft question about pre-pay vs contract SIM
Bookmark topic
Hi there,
My existing phone keeps switching itself off and it's too old to bother with getting fixed. It turns out that my Vodafone loyalty discount is actually a 12 month contract and I can't escape this until July next year, so I'm looking to get a new phone to make do for a while.
Naturally I don't want to spend loads of cash, so I was looking at the W910i on offer from Play.COM, however this is on a Vodafone pre-pay deal.
What I'd like to do is just take the SIM out of my existing phone, which is on a pay monthly contract and just use this with the new phone.
This might sound daft, but would this work on a phone sold as a pre-pay device?
If ask because the phone is £80 compared to £160 for a sim-free variant and like I said, I'm only looking to get by until July next year.
Thanks in advance.

Of course it will. The phone isnt made to be prepay or contract. It uses all!

yeah your contract sim will work fine.
if its a voda payg phone, it would be locked to the voda network. not just voda prepaid.

Thanks for the replies.
Having never used a pre-pay/payg tariff this is a new area for me and while I figured it should work, thought best to double check

It should take all netwrks. I had a w710 from voda and used a cosmote pre pay sim.
