Hi all

I'm still very happy with my p990i

but I wonder is there already a better SE phone out?

And will that phone be worth to upgrade or should I wait for a better SE model that's coming out?

The phone has to be like my p990i qua funcionality

if you are going to wait you could be waiting for ever, Do you want another se phone or are all Brands considered? My son has just got the x1 and loves it depends on what you want

Hi, I am on my second P990 right now ( first one served me well, but started acting up under abuse it was put through )

It is still quite good device ( if you can live with its quirks of course ), and I am in no rush to change it ....
At the moment Nokia N97 is looking nice, but would rather wait for SE to give its answer with Symbian instead of WM

Unfortunately the P990i is probably the last of its kind. It's very unlikely SE can come up with something contemporary that can replace P990i. If you are in no hurry, I suggest you wait for the new Symbian Foundation phones and take a look at them.

As for the X1, I'm reading a good deal of problems with it, mainly compatibility issues and a serious build quality problem that shows up as cracks in the case.

I really loved my P900. Unfortunately my "good" friend lost it. I have a K810i right now, but really would like to try the P990 as I think it will be the last of its kind. abandoned UIQ, so I think we don't see a device like that anymore from them.

The only other I would have replaced my P990i with would have been the BeiBei if only hadn't stupidly pulled it!

What is the deal with the memory issue on the P990i? Any real life comments on that one?

To be perfectly honest - it's the reason why I finally got P1i.
I don't care about RAM anymore, reboot one a 10 days, install/uninstall and multitask.
P990 could not do it really. It's RAM is a disaster if you really want to extensively use it. But for basics - no problem.
PLUS - some apps don't work on P990, like Opera Mobile 9.5, and Opera Widgets..
I agree - P990 was the perfect smartphone and the most ergonomic, as well as P910. Now it's gone.

In terms of the old P series design there may be some hope if the patented P series-like design by SE Japan is anything to go by. That patent was 100 percent old school P series mordenised, and I mean old school as in P800/900/910i excluding the P990i. If anyone remembers it it had a 'foldable' flip with a huge desirable screen as the P800/900/910i phones. Seeing that SE is reportedly merging its operations into one then perhaps they are going to produce that particular phone. Fingers crossed!

You can sell the P990... Although not much, but you will get some cash... Earn something plus and buy the G900 or the X1... As you are smartphone user, you may find the G900 great... It is much faster and more powerful compared to P990. If you want a bigger change, go for X1 or maybe C905. Trading the P990 with other phone will help you get only crap.
