> Keeping number with orange! Please help!

Right ok, my orange contract ends in january so i rang up to order my upgrade, i want the c905. they said i would have to pay 195 for it! I said no way! They said ok 95! I said no way! And they said they wouldn't be able to give me it any cheaper than that, so I said fine I'll leave orange!
So was looking around for other deals on the internet where I could get the phone for free. Found one wher i could, plus get 60 cashback, im paying no more line rental than i am now, and get more minutes/txts!! So I ordered it and my phone comes tomorrow! Thing is, its with orange again!!
Now I wanted to keep my old number but somebody has told me you cant do that on the same network, only changing from different networks. Is this true??
And if so, would it work to swop my existing contract number that runs out in january to an o2 pay as u go simcard, then swop it from the o2 to the new orange contract??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

- Do this.
You can port your current number out to an o2 PAYG SIM with your Orange PAC Code - then after a month, request your PAC code from o2 PAYG Customer Service.
Using this o2 PAC Code, you can then port back to Orange, by calling Orange Customer Services and giving them the details.
Good luck!
