> No charging with APC USB power supply
Bookmark topic
Hello,
I have bought APC universal power pack device to charge my phone via original USB cable but if i connect (fully charged and ready) the supply no charging.
Here are circumstances: phone doesnot charge in phone mode, nor media mode, but charges in mass storage mode (don't know if it really charges but at least battery icon says so). USB charging is enabled in service menu (however i'm not able to invoke it anymore). USB charging works fine if connected to Pc's USB port (i.e. the cable and connectors are fine).
If you know this problem or can give a solution please help
(phone model se-c702 r3ca029, charger model upb10-ce)

Are you sure the charger can supply enough power to charge your phone?

I'm not sure.
The charger gives 5V/8-10W output and is claimed by manufacturer to serve wide range of portable devices including iTunes and iPhone so my assumption is yes (the phone charger gives 4.9V/450mA)
The charger full specification at

Thank you.

Imo it is better to charge your phone with the original battery charger supplied from the box
if you use non original accesories you may somehow shortened your battery life

I think the phone needs a signal from the computer to tell it to charge, those usb chargers don't give signals like that, hence certain products don't work. For example: PS3 controllers don't charge plugged into a wall charger, but they charge perfectly if you plug them into a ps3 or computer.

Yea g, that was the problem I asked local SE distributor for charging only cable unfortunately SE doesnot provide other charging cable except DCU-60. Guessing from the cable pinout at pinouts.ru there were also 5-pin DCU60 cables with regular charging support unfortunately I got only 4-pins at the mine. Is there a manufacturer offering cables with charge signal pin? (I cannot use original charger sometimes since it's not portable)
