this is hard to explain... but you know in some songs how the voice of the singer sounds kinda like a computer? with the digital-sounding feature? the kind of sound you get when you talk in an 'up and down' type of tone pattern through a vacuum hose... i know that sounds confusing probably, but i really want to know how... this is an example of what im talking about: http://www.icarly.com/iVideo/Default.asp...

this is an iCarly video, and near the end when spencer's singing is dubbed in, notice how his voice sounds, computer-like... PLEASE, i really need help, if its some kind of software you can download, or something in windows, anything... i would prefer something that insnt expensive, better yet free, but whatever you can think of is appreciated... thanks

You need a Vocoder to make voice sound like a robot. I'm used to make techno music when I have time. I use Fruity Loop for sequencing and synth of sound, but I make use of a plug-in vocoder to distort voice or any sound.

Below are the vocoders I use:

- 4ormulator, free but not very good.
- Orange Vocoder, 5 min demo but sounds real good. the 5min demo is not a problem to me as I make presets and load the plug-in only at rendering stage

These plug-ins are not stand-alone. They must be used along with a music maker software. For example FruityLoops, Cubase, etc...

You load the plug in into a channel, and so it will distort the sound through that channel.

It's quite complicated to explain by writing. You can still send me a record of your voice which you want to robotize and I'll do it for you.
