> Help required, sticky shutter on K850i
Bookmark topic
Hi all,
I can't seem to find much info about this, but my K850i has a problem with the shutter 'sticking' when switching to camera mode, i.e most of the time it just won't open (blue ring lights up around it as usual though) so the viewfinder just shows pitch black.
I was thinking of trying to open up the phone and fixing it myself, but unfortunately I think I've stripped the head of one of the Torx 5 screws that holds the battery cover in place, so I don't think I can disassemble the phone.
If anyone has any ideas as to how I can fix the shutter, or how to get the phone dismantled now that I stripped the screw head, I would really appreciate it.
Cheers,
- OdieS

I've read somewhere that a sticky shutter was more software than hardware related, and since u can't open the phone anymore it's worth trying a firmware update as a last resort

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately I have updated the firmware a few times everytime there has been a new one, but the problem remains.

wel you could always try gooping a whole lot of super glue between the screwdriver and the screw, letting it dry and see if you can turn it

haha kidding, wel hope some1 can come up with something

Hey I also had this on my K850 (with one of the early FW's). In my case it was due a bug, it would open sometimes..
Anyways, I also ticked a few times at the 'lens-glass', would open it

Yeah, shaking the phone when switching to camera mode opens the shutter sometimes, it's just a bit frustrating.
