How do I get the clock & battery to show up in all the panels? It currently only shows a clock, but not sure how to configure it to have both of them to show.

I am not sure about this, but I think that if you set the clock to be displayed in all programs then the battery will not shown at all.
The clock moves itself to the taskbar and replaces the battery icon.
Otherwise (default setting) the clock is below the battery icon.
