Israel just launched an offensive from the ground. two thousands of civilians injured and more than four hundred killed including seventy five children... So what you guys think about this ? What peaceful solutions they can set? Should the international community act now or wait for the future developements of the situation ? Thanks for sharing your opinion with us ! Well, if you are looking for a peaceful solution it cannot happen since Isreal is currently bombing everyone, even the innocent kids. Peace would be to break the wall down and return the Palestinian land. That would instantly stop the war but what are the chances of that happening?

Islam is all about peace but there is a limit to everything. A person who sees injustice and stays silent is as bad as the person who is doing the injustice. This is not directed to the people of Esato as all we can do is voice our opinions, but to the rulers of the observing nations. If the Saudis or Egyptians were to provide some aid to Gaza, maybe the Isrealis would see that Palestine has some support. The so called 'super powers' would be on their knees if only the Saudis and similar nations were to threaten to cut of the oil supply.

I hear a lot of people saying to pray for them and hope God saves them but its up the people to help. For those with political power, there is a lot that can be done. We have a voice and we should speak out and join the demonstrations. In London, we have had one on Friday, Saturday and haver one later on Sunday.

The Isreali army is a major force with serious firepower but the Palestinian kids will still take a handfull of stones and confront the soldiers. I have a sweet life, I have no idea of what they feel but speaking to Palestinians and those who have seen the carnage, it really makes you think. There is a lot that is not said in the media but see for yourselves, how is it that they have their power cut regularly or that people are starving or dying because they can't get medicine? There is food and supplies available but the Isrealis are stopping them from getting any. This on top of economic collapse, the country is being destroyed in every way.

The credit crunch is a man made disaster and has crippled and frightened many people. If there is an earthquake or tsunami, cities collapse but if God were to intervene at every injustice, what would our purpose be on this earth? Unfortunately, good Isreali citizens also suffer but when a man loses his entire family he is full of hate and has nothing to live for so its not surprising that he will retaliate.

I wish that the war stops but we all know that it will not happen right away. The most we can do is protest and give to charity i.e. InterPal and of course, pray to God.

Isreal is one of the most powerful countries in the world everyone knows that they have secret nuclear weapons, that the u.s provided for them. over 400 palestineains dead ,and only 4 isrealis dead.
Palestine has no millitary yet because they are warriors they fight on with what they have to defend there country. The rockets fired from palestine are only in retaliation to isreals force. Even if they stopped isreal would not, so rather than die without a fight they chose to fight like brave warriors with what they have.
While it seems no country is going to step in, isreal has already said its not going to stop till its objective is complete, which is to conquer palestine.
And the U.S and U.K are agreeing with isreal when every one can see that isreal is in the wrong. But for the U.S and U.K it seems ok to defeat terrorism which is what isreal are doing, and also to go to war with a country that is supposedly to have nuclear weapons with out authority which isreal also has, but were never found in iraq. Also it seems weird that the U.S and U.K want to get out of iraq quickly now that all the oil reserves have finished.
Not one country in the world is going to step in and back palestine with there military, every one fears isreal they are a very powerful nation.
America provided them with all the weapons and nuclear power, they basically run america. There is nothing anyone can really do except pray that god will stop this.

Israel is a viral plague. You cant find a cure, the only solution is to wipe it off completely. And if that happens, i'll be the happiest person on the planet. The kind of mentality people of Israel have, its like they were sent to earth from the very deepest parts of hell. And what they are doing, what they have done before, shame on the western world to have kept quite on this. You are very prominent in protesting against the Muslims and Pakistan every chance you get, where the ***k are you now? Obama has openly supported Israel, just like Bush did, so clearly white to black makes no difference, both are dogs.

P.S, there might be 0.0000001% good people in Israel(hardly doubt it), i mean them no harm.

Following your logic, then my people should also be wiped off the planet. Don't be ridiculous.

I stand by what i have said. In fact i don't know why the Iranian president after saying Israel should be wiped off the map, hasn't taken any steps to do so. Most people in Israel support what they are doing to Palestine. Since the day Islam was introduced 1400 years ago, these Jews have been up our *rs*. Its been 1400 years later and they are no different.

What about what Muhammad and his people did to pagans around the Arabian Peninsula? The Qur'an still says to this day that pagans must be killed off and since the last time I remembered, Christians, Jews and other religions alike have been interpreted as pagans/heretics by certain Islamic factions. This is something that happened since the 7th century - just like you said, 1400 years. And yet I still have Islamic friends and get pissed by some stupid Christians. You're overreacting. What I'd say is that if you really hate Israel then you should join Hamas so you can see what a warzone is really like, and probably '...make Gaza a burial ground for Israeli soldiers' like some up-high Hamas official said today. What Israel is doing is horrible but it doesn't mean that if they're all in Hell, then someone else won't replace them as a warlike nation. For all I know, Palestinians of 2000 years ago were exactly the same kind of aggressive expansionists. Does that make them scum of the earth? No. You see, winners of conflicts write history, so how do you know that ever since its existence, Islam have been annoyed by Jews and not the other way around?

I'm not trying to flame you here. Just offering a different perspective, although it doesn't necessarily mean I support Israel.

@gtr83
It's clear you know nothing about Islamic history. The same pagans became the Muslims by choice as clearly shown by factual history not your made up crap to use in an argument in a forum. When Muslims left Mecca because it wasn't safe, the pagans followed them. The only time the Muslims fought was when the pagans broke the peace treaty.

The Christians and Jews are not considered pagans, the Christians are considered the closes people to the Muslims as explained by Muhammad because they both believe in God.

The Quran does not say kill all pagans, please provide proof.

If Palestinians of 2000 years ago were the aggresive party, then Islam would be with Jews, as it was with King David and the children of Israel.

@Qvga

Sounds like what your basically saying is that you would do exactly what Israel is doing if you were in there position.

This war on gaza is about land not religion. The palestinians have been put in a cage and are being killed and starved in large numbers for the last 50 years.

Trust me, we're not going anywhere with this argument; you can say my opinions are crap and made up, I will keep my opinion just like you won't care if I say you are wrong. Because no matter what I write, I won't be able to convince you, right? Vice versa. We both recite history in our posts, but do we really know if what we know is true?

And oh yeah, I do know things about Islam, but I'd rather not talk about it. You must think I'm an Islam hater but I ain't. I've got my references; you've got yours, that's the case here.

Peace to all.

Israel just want the land ad will do anything to get it whether it means kill innocent civilains etc, Allah {god} knows best and he is the best of planners.

The Islamic thread here on Esato has been discussing the events and has been done without any arguments, just a few quotes from there:

High-profile campaigners have called for an immediate end to the Israeli operation in Gaza. Annie Lennox, Ken Livingstone, Alexei Sayle and Bianca Jagger were among the speakers at a news conference on the issue. Ms Lennox accused Israel of "slaughter".

Open Letter to the Prime Minister on Gaza

The Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown MP
Prime Minister
London SW1A 2AA

30th December 2008

Dear Prime Minister,

The illegal and inhumane bombardment of the Gaza Strip by Israeli forces has shocked us all. The images beamed around the globe show the horror of death and destruction unleashed against an Occupied People, contrary to all humanitarian standards. The mass outrage expressed on the streets of Britain is yet to be reflected in the actions of our government, and this is unacceptable.

While Gaza mourns its dead the deafening silence of our Prime Minister and government is a source of great bewilderment. Is it not time for a firm intervention that brings relief to the thousands of injured? We can only imagine conditions in the beleaguered hospitals where the most basic medicines were exhausted before the attacks, because of the inhumane blockade imposed on the million and a half inhabitants of the strip.

Since 2006, humanitarian conditions have deteriorated to unprecedented levels. Parents have watched their babies die; 600,000 children now suffer from post traumatic disorder as a result of Israeli state terror and international sanctions. It is time to stop this brutality and allow the Palestinian people to live in peace and dignity.

A few weeks ago, it was notable how you rightly rushed to Islamabad and New Delhi in the wake of the Mumbai attacks in order to calm all parties, avert escalation and further bloodshed. One wonders if you intend to visit Tel Aviv and make clear to the Israeli leadership that nothing can excuse nor justify targeting charities, hospitals, medical stores and pharmacies, mosques and universities, causing maximum casualties. Will you then proceed to Gaza and console the orphans and widows of this brutal campaign?

Prime Minister, this is your hour with history and we urge you to take the first step. We expect nothing less of our government than an unequivocal condemnation of Israel's actions, as it has condemned similar brutalities committed by various states around the world.

We urge you to ensure:
• An immediate end to Israel's military assault on Gaza
• An immediate end to the blockade and siege on Gaza
• An end to Israel's violation of International Law
• An end to Israeli Occupation

• Muslim Council of Britain
• British Muslim Forum

Verses Read by the Imam at Jummah (Friday) prayers today:

Quran Chapter 2 Verses 153 onwards:

O ye who believe! seek help with patient perseverance and prayer; for Allah is with those who patiently persevere.

And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah. "They are dead." Nay, they are living, though ye perceive it not.

Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits of your toil, but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere,

Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return"

They are those on whom Descend blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance.
