just recently my C905 has stopped vibrating for no apparent reason! i have it on vibrate most of the time but surely this shouldn't be a reason why should it? i have not dropped it at all. Do i need to do a master reset at all or is there something else that i can do get it to vibrate?

any help would be appreciated

Enter to the Service Menu and go to service tests and vibrating alert. If it doesnt work there then is a hardware issue.

I found this thread when searching on Google as sometimes mine vibrates, other times it doesn't seem to. It could be cos I don't notice the vibrate in my pocket so I miss calls, rather than it not vibrating though. But I notice when I have it in my hand sometimes and I get a text I don't feel a vibrate.

And sometimes the flash menu doesn't trigger a vibrate when moving between menu options. The hardware test in the service menu tests the vibrate works fine though.

It appears to be a software issue to me (in my case anyhow). Can you get it to work at all?

If you think it is software related problem, you can try updating the phone firmware in order to flash the firmware and get it to the latest version. Then, all software related issues should be fixed. Look at www.sonyericsson.com for the Update Service application download.

Actually the service vibrate test seems intermittent as well. If it stops vibrating, opening or closing the slider seems to restore functionality.

I'm on R1BA042

You may be right, a hardware issue.

I squeezed the phone slightly and made the vibrate stronger (when it does work) so I guess its the vibra unit not making proper electrical contact with the main board.

Wonder if I can fix it like this thread suggests for another model?

Where is the vibrating unit on the C905?

@bwfc7

I would do if it didn't lose all the settings.

I can live with it for now. I'll wait for the next SEUS update, and see if its better then.
