Heres the deal.

Old w880i lying around, gone to turn it on with a sim in, nothing.

Plugged charger in, and a red LED appears under the C Button.

Ive connected to the PC, and it says usb not recognized?

Ive taken the battery out, and will leave it for a while, and then try again.

It was working fine, until last time.

I want to try and reflash but can't as the PC wont recognise it?

Either your battery is useless or you have a sinister EROM problem. Change the battery and tell me the results.

No spare BST33 Lying around, or in any other phone.

Phone isn't recognised by the PC. Says USB Not recognised.

Kind of annoying.

It's still quite possible that a battery failure could be the cause of that. Anyway attempt to hold 2+5 to boot the phone in emergency EROM mode, connecting the same way as in XS++ or SE Tool 2.

Holding 2+5 together does nothing

Is your cable ok? Did you try a different USB port? What about the FastPort on the phone, is it clean?
I seriously recommend trying the phone with another battery. Seriously.

Tried 3 diff PC's

Cleaned the connectors on the phone, still the same.

Don't any of your mates have a battery you could use for a while? And what about another cable? It doesn't seem to me that the phone is the problem.

Isn't the cable, used it for my W910i without a problem.

Must be battery, although.

The phone use to work fine, but hasn't been used for a while, and now wont turn on :S

All evidence points to the battery, you'll just have to get a new one and try it.
