Well, I broke my HPM-82 cable and now I need a new one. It's not about the actual headset as I'll be using my own. So it should be an SE headset with remote and 3.5mm jack. I was going to order one just now but can't make up my mind yet.
I could get HPM-85 which seems to have the same cable as HPM-82, and hope it lasts longer than a year. But for only 10 euros more I can get the one with the OLED remote. (and some earbuds I know I won't be using). What do you think? Any advice appreciated.

Depends on your phone - some phones don't make use of the oled screen

It's for C702. I also have a HGE-100 but this doesn't work with C702.
Great idea of SE to make me buy stuff I don't use twice.

I guess it's gonna be HPM-85, same cable I had, don't really need the OLED. Would be a plus if the headset's any good (for spare). So thanks SE for making me spend 35 just for a cable with remote.

Two days ago I noticed my HGE-100 was also broke. The headset microphone wire was pulled loose from the connection in the remote part. (This had happened before so I opened the GPS/remote part and indeed I was right).
Considering all my headset damage (HPM-82 also) is related to accidentally pulling the wire, I decided to go for my first wireless headset; HBH-DS200. Hope this works for me. It's now charging so in a couple of hours I'll find out.

So, how's the new headset working?
How does it compare with your previous headset in sound quality?

Well, it seems to work fine and quality is just as good as cable. It has HPM-64 earbuds. These are OK for me, but I won't use them as much as my favorite Sennheiser.
Not having to worry about breaking the cable is a big relief.
I did notice the phone's interface gets slower when playing music with this device.
