Hi There,
Today my trusty P1i seems to have developed an obscure fault, one that which has no resolution that I could find through googling.
When I turn it on, the keyboard flashes on and off slowly, and the screen does too.
It never shows up a display or gets to the boot screen, and when put in the cradle it doesnt "acknowlege" that it has been plugged in. Oddly, when I take the battery out and put the phone in the cradle, the light at the bottom of the phone flashes red.
I've tried taking the battery out and leaving it for a while then trying to re-boot, but no luck.
Any suggestions?
I bought it off eBay about a year ago, so how would I get it sent off for repair?
Thanks folks,
Matt

Yeh, I had just unlocked it to check the time, put it back in my pocket, and took it out again about 10 minutes later and it was doing this.

Unfortunately I cant connect it to my computer as it doesnt even boot, just flashes away with nothing on the screen.

Nope, I thought it had to be done while the phone was on. How can I do it while its off?

Well as tranced said the phone doesn't need to be turned on to be updated.... Just check
www.sonyericsson.com to download the latest SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Software) and update your phone... If it already has the latest firmware choose the "update anyway" option in order to change the software in it... Then, if the problem with the phone is software related, it should be fixed fine.
