I have just a shock when opening my last phone bill. I had £14.50 worth of call charges, not excessive for some people but I am on Orange Racoon which gives me free calls to landlines anytime of the day and 600 cross-network minutes.
The call charges were because of the text messages I sent. I have 100 text messaging including in my bundle but since I debranded the phone I am now only sending MMS messages (not standard text messages). At 25p per message I have been hammered. All those silly jokes and happy new year messages have really cost me!
If I put my sim card in my old K850 I have the option of writing a text message, multi media message, voice message or email, the option for a text message is clearly missing off the C905. I should have realised by the format of the messages when I wrote them but I overlooked it somehow.
I have re-installed the software on the phone to no avail, is there something easy I am missing here?

If you just write text and send to less that 10 people it should send as an sms. If it doesn't then you got a problem

That is not the case, it is the same for individual messages. I have no option to send text messages. I can only send MMS, Voice Message or EMail. On my K850 I have a choice of Text Message too, this is missing altogether.

try to perform a master reset. if that doesn't bring it back, flash the phone. how did you debrand your mobile?

I used the A2 uploader to install "customize_upgrade.xml", then I used the SEUS, I have done this several times. This might be missing from the menu on unbrande c905s but Orange have charged me for sending MMS messages and not ordinary text messages.

I have just checked my itemised bill online. The only messages I was charged for is when the recpients were greater than 10. I shall call Orange to check if this is the case.
Thanks both for your response.

I have sent one message form my current period period to 9 recipents, that has been charged as photo messaging too.
I'll post here what Orange say.

mine only starts as a generic message but changes to a mms if you add any pics, vids etc.
try writing a message and before you send press options, scroll down to advanced, press select and see if there is an option to change to a picture message.

mine is also SMS unless you add a picture, and if you delete the picture from an MMS it then tells you it's switched back to SMS

Hey guys most of the context here is correct - the C905 uses an intelligent messaging system ie....if you only type characters it will sense this and send out an SMS, however modify this with photos, font change, text colour etc - any writing format options and he message will be changed to MMS - so people be careful.
Hope this helps
